Thank you for considering
trading with Cape Cod Trade. Ive always viewed barter as a business
and lifestyle enhancement. While it may not change your business or
life to a major degree, it can provide an incremental increase. Sometimes
that incremental increase can make the difference and bring you to
the next level. Organized barter is a legitimate way to bring new
avenues of business to your door and expand your local networking
value. At the same time the barter income can help defray your incidental
expenses, provide a source of employee bonuses and incentives, augment
your health coverage, and perhaps afford you some small luxuries.
Over
the last twenty years Ive been involved in organized barter
at every level. I joined the local exchange as a retail store owner.
Later when I closed my store, I used barter to liquidate my inventory
and joined the exchange as an employee in the accounting department.
Later I moved to a brokering position, and eventually came to manage
the local office. Unfortunately, barter began to change into a mechanism
more focused on national trading then the local business. The local
office was sold to a regional group that in turn was sold to a national
conglomerate. Id have to say that was more of a mutation than
an evolution. When the focus moved to national businesses, the local
elements were lost, the networking and camaraderie were gone, and
the local trade opportunities began a steady decline into eventual
oblivion.
Our
mission is to bring back the small local barter exchange and once
again provide you, the members, with an effective and affordable
method of exchange here on Cape Cod. Barter is a time proven effective
business model. I will apply my personal dedication, experience,
and enthusiasm to making it work again. I have partnered with New
England Trade, the best locally run exchange in the Northeast and
a group that never lost their local focus while other exchanges
sold out to the national barter exchanges. I invite you to try us
and allow us to earn your business and trust. It cost you nothing
to join and you have everything to gain.
